Building the future of skilled trades, together

Georgian College’s expanded skilled trades facilities are taking shape, creating new opportunities for students to learn in environments designed to reflect the industries they will enter.

Recently, partners from the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC-R) industry were invited for a sneak peek at the future HVAC-R lab and a firsthand look at the progress underway. Once complete, the expansion will feature 72,000 square feet of interactive learning environments and represent Georgian’s single largest expansion and investment in skilled trades education to date.

Bringing a project of this scale to life takes more than bricks and mortar. Donors and industry partners help ensure these new spaces are equipped with the technology, tools and expertise students need to develop in-demand skills and gain meaningful hands-on experience. Their support can take many forms, from capital investments and equipment donations to curriculum expertise, co-op placements and employment opportunities.
