Course description

Students are introduced to the process of planning, creating, and managing a relational database using MySQL. Students apply best practices in database design, including the development of entity relationship diagrams (ERDs), normalization techniques, and the principles of atomicity, consistency, isolation, and durability (ACID). Emphasis is placed on writing efficient MySQL queries for data definition, manipulation, and extraction

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
