Course description

Game Design 3 continues on the foundations established in Game Design 1 and 2. Students master advanced game design principles and strategies to elevate gameplay experiences. Students focus their learning on attributes of a 'good' game, understanding the target player, and enhancing playability through catch-up mechanics, resource management, and risk/reward systems. Students explore various game genres, game ratings, and designing for the correct target audience. They learn about various aspects of game design from game progression, checkpoints, and cutscene placement to balancing complexity and difficulty, and the importance of leaderboards, badges, and social engagement

Post Secondary level GAME 1007 Game Design 2 Minimum Grade of 50

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
