Canadian Literature

Course description

Using critical analysis, students examine selected Canadian short fiction, nonfiction, and poetry to explore Canadian identity, perspectives, and lived experiences. With a focus on diverse voices in Canadian literature, students analyze works for their historical, social, cultural, political, and personal contexts. Through close reading, interpretation, and discussion, students identify authors’ writing strategies and themes to deepen their understanding of literary works

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
